About Langkawi

 

Langkawi is located on the northwestern peninsula of Malaysia and is an archipelago of 99 islands at high tide and 104 islands at low tide in the Andaman Sea. Situated closer to Thailand than to mainland Malaysia (just 25km away). Three most popular Langkawi Geoparks are Machincang Cambrian Geoforest Park, Kilim Karst Geoforest Park and Dayang Bunting Marble Geoforest park.(Island of the Pregnant Maiden Lake).

The wet monsoon is from April to October making the best time to visit Langkawi from November to March. However, due to the warm year-round climate and low rainfall, Langkawi can be visited throughout the year. During raining season, it rarely rains for more than 2-3 hours per day.
